After taking separate vacations in Florida (male) and Haiti (female), the Sutton Island Osprey have returned!! Reliable sources inform me that "they always return on the 12th of April" and, in fact, one bird -- the female, as confirmed by satellite tracking -- was seen in the nest that day by close observers on the Mailboat. Her tardy mate joined her five days later. No doubt he offered some lame excuse for the delay...

![]() Work has begun on refurbishing the Ladies Aid Building. The Congregational Church sports new interior paint and shiny floors thanks to a renovation completed late last season (1999)... Great Cranberry Historical Society to open a MUSEUM in one of the classrooms of the Longfellow School... DONATIONS URGENTLY REQUESTED... Plans call for interior painting, wall-mounting of several descriptive pictorial wall panels, display of artifacts... Grand Opening planned for August 9, 2000... Librarian Ruth Westphal & daughter recently returned from spring visit to Italy...
Cabin Creek Farm will be closed this summer, so no fresh vegetables :-(
