Capt. Eben C. Rosebrook of Cranberry Isles died April 2, aged 76 years.  Capt. Rosebrook came here from Gouldsboro half a century ago and married Miss Jane Spurling, who survives him.  He leaves one son, Gilbert H. of this place and one daughter, Mrs. L. E. Holmes of Northeast Harbor and five grandchildren, besides many more distant relatives to mourn his loss.  For many years he followed the sea and the three-masted schooner Vineyard was built for him.

The funeral was from the Union meeting house; Rev. Mr. Tingley preached the sermon, after which the Free Masons took charge and the body was conveyed to the Preble cemetery, where it was buried.
