“The Store” is located on the main road of Great Cranberry Island, just a three-minute walk from the ferry dock.  It has great views of Acadia National Park from the upstairs bedrooms as well as from the kitchen and adjoining deck.  Behind the house is a large field sloping down to the ocean and the Western Way facing Seawall (in the National Park).

While “The Store” is now a private home, it served as a general store for many years at the beginning of the 20th century.  The downstairs reflects this fact, with just two large rooms and a bathroom.

The front room is the living room, still lined with shelves on one wall.  It has wood-paneling and original paintings done by an island artist (the owners’ father).

The kitchen is sunny and bright, and comes with modern appliances, including a dishwasher.

Sliding doors lead out to a broad deck, facing the ocean – a perfect spot to watch the sunset with a drink in hand!

Upstairs, there are four bedrooms and another full bath.

The house comes fully equipped with all kitchen, linen and bath supplies, as well as a full library of books (many are quite historic), a collection of games, bicycles, and washing machine and dryer.

Rentals are available on a weekly basis from June through September.
